Learning valuable skills through art class at Halverson

Halverson Elementary School kindergarteners recently covered the following standards in art class: I can identify four basic shapes — square, circle, triangle and rectangle; I can identify four basic lines — straight, curved, dotted and zigzag; I can identify six colors — red, yellow, blue, orange, green and purple; I can use the elements of visual art including line, shape, color, texture and space; and I can demonstrate beginning skill in use of basic art tools and processes (like paper, scissors, glue and drawing utensils).
