University of Minnesota swimmer Lindsey Horejsi has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, according to a press release.

The Albert Lea native competed for the conference at the USA College Challenge last weekend.

Horejsi clocked in with an NCAA provisional time of 59.50 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke. She finished third in the race while competing with members of the U.S. National Team and top swimmers in the Big Ten.

Horejsi also swam on the fourth-place 400 medley relay team.

She is the second Gopher to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors this season, as diver Sarah Bacon did so on Nov. 2.
