Albert Lea Cantori to host auditions

The Albert Lea Cantori will begin its spring season on Monday. The Cantori is a community-based choral ensemble singing sacred and secular music from Baroque to some of today’s newest composers.
Members of the Cantori are people who love to sing and make music together. According to a press release, potential members do not need to be soloists, they just need to have a good ear and love to sing. While reading music is helpful, it is not required.
Anyone interested in singing with the Cantori is invited to come to an open audition rehearsal with the entire ensemble. Following the rehearsal, those who audition will be asked to meet briefly with the director. Those selected will be notified within a couple of days ater the rehearsal. There are openings for each section.
During the audition, individuals will sing with the Cantori as they read through the music for the spring concert.
Those auditioning are asked to arrive no later than 7 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary at United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. Individuals will be asked to sign in and fill out a brief form.
For more information, or if you are unable to be at the open audition, call Eileen Nelson Ness at 507-377-2075. Individual auditions should be scheduled before Monday.
