At least 1 injured in A.L. crash

At least one person was injured Wednesday after two vehicles collided at the intersection of East Main Street and Prospect Avenue.

Austin Miller, 17, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

According to Albert Lea police, a 2010 Chevy Malibu driven by Melanie Joy Modderman, 42, of Albert Lea was westbound on East Main Street and a 2006 Ford Focus driven by Jasmine Rose Becker, 18, of Albert Lea was northbound on Prospect Avenue, crossing the westbound lanes of East Main Street.

Becker reported that a semi was turning off of westbound East Main Street onto southbound Prospect Avenue and waved her across. The Focus reportedly failed to yield the right of way, and the Malibu struck the Focus as it crossed East Main Street.

Miller was a front passenger of the Malibu.

The crash was reported at 12:22 p.m.
