While the weather was less than decent around southern Minnesota, the Lake Mills wrestling team traveled to Waterloo, Iowa, for the Battle of Waterloo tournament on Friday and Saturday.
The Bulldogs came away with a 5-1 record on the weekend, only losing to Cedar Falls (38-32).
Lake Mills took down Pleasant Valley (56-20), Clear Lake (45-30), Linn-Mar (51-25), Union (69-9) and West Delaware (54-30).
“We rebounded very well from a loss against (Cedar Falls),” Bulldogs coach Alex Brandenburg said. “When you don’t bring your ‘A’ game against the school the size of (Cedar Falls) you’re going to get beat. But we did a good job the rest of the weekend and I felt a lot of our guys really gave great effort in all of their matches.”
Slade Sifuentes went 6-0 for the Bulldogs, who are 11-2 on the season and are ranked No. 7 in The Predicament’s Class 1A rankings.
