Police still searching for suspects from robberies

Albert Lea police are continuing to search for suspects in a robbery and an attempted robbery last month.

The first robbery at gunpoint was reported early in the morning of Nov. 16 at America’s Best Value Inn. The suspect was initially described as a white man in his 20s. He was described as being approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build and brown eyes. He reportedly was wearing a dark green shirt with a small logo over his left breast, and he was wearing a baseball hat. His face was covered with a black bandanna with white markings on it.

The suspect was reportedly able to get away with $220 of money out of a drawer.

The attempted robbery was reported on the evening of Nov. 23 at Shoe Sensation. The suspect was initially described as a white man who is 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build, who was wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, a facemask and black gloves.

Employees said the suspect entered the business, displayed a black-colored firearm and demanded money before the leaving the business a short time later without any money.

Police do not know if the two incidents are connected.
