EAGAN — Police in a Twin Cities suburb said a security guard has fatally shot an armed man who attempted to rob him.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight today at a warehouse in Eagan. The security guard told police he was attacked by the gunman and during the assault he shot the man. Authorities said the man who was shot died at the scene. The security guard suffered minor injuries. He was not taken to the hospital.

Eagan police said they are not seeking additional suspects in the incident.
