GRAND CHUTE, Wis. — Authorities have arrested a man who prompted an evacuation of a mall in eastern Wisconsin filled with hundreds of shoppers.
Grand Chute police said the 28-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in a parking lot in Minnesota. The suspect will be taken to Hennepin County Jail.
The Fox River Mall was evacuated Tuesday night after police got a call that an armed man could possibly be in the building. Officers searched the mall but did not locate him.
An evacuation order was played over the mall’s loudspeaker after police got a call from a person that a family member was possibly in the mall and was making threats.
No one was hurt. Police say it took about two hours to get hundreds of shoppers out of the mall.
