1 injury as Semi, snowplow collide

A man was injured after a semi truck collided with a snowplow Thursday in Freeborn County.

Dilshod Shakirdjano Shermatov, 31, of Hollywood, Florida, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

Shermatov was driving a 2015 semi on Interstate 35, exiting to U.S. Highway 65, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. A 2010 Mack snowplow driven by Todd Charles Stadheim, 51, of Albert Lea reportedly turned onto southbound Highway 65 from Freeborn County Road 84 and came to a stop. The snowplow went in reverse on the shoulder to go back on the county road to remove snow, the report states. The two vehicles then collided at about 3 p.m.

Stadheim was not injured in the collision.

Shermatov and Stadheim were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report states.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Albert Lea Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted on scene.

2 injured in rollover crashes

An Albert Lea woman was injured in a rollover crash Thursday on Interstate 35 at the Iowa border.

Wendy Jean Woodson, 55, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

Woodson was driving a 1999 Chevy Silverado north on I-35 at the border when she lost control of the vehicle, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The vehicle then reportedly rolled into the median at about 6:45 p.m.

The passenger in the vehicle, Quinten Duane Amos, 36, of Albert Lea was not injured in the crash.

Woodson and Amos were wearing their seatbelts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report states.

The Emmons Fire Department , Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted on scene.

A Hayward man was injured in a rollover crash Thursday on an icy patch of Interstate 90 east of Albert Lea.

Clayton Dean Peterson, 78, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

Peterson was driving a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer west on I-90 when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled into the ditch at about 7 a.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Peterson was wearing his seatbelt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report states.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Albert Lea and Hayward fire departments assisted on scene.
