Authorities to look into suspicious fire outside Glenville

A fire Monday outside of Glenville that destroyed a shed is under investigation after authorities said it happened under suspicious circumstances.
Law enforcement and firefighters were dispatched at approximately 6:23 a.m. to 11724 870th Ave. Upon arriving, a shed was fully engulfed, and fire trucks could not get back to the shed because the driveway had not been plowed, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. A Freeborn County snowplow was used to open up the driveway.
The property was abandoned, and the shed reportedly housed hay and other farm equipment, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Loss was estimated at $35,000.
The State Fire Marshall’s Office was called to the scene.
The Myrtle Fire Department was assisted by Glenville fire and the Sheriff’s Office on scene.
