Albert Lea student appointed to alumni board

Wheaton College student Corbin Schultz of Albert Lea was appointed to the college’s student alumni board.

The student alumni board exists to create meaningful interactions and experiences that unite current Wheaton students and the alumni family.

Ellendale student recognized

Ridgewater College announced Jack Skalicky of Ellendale has been named to the fall semester 2016 dean’s list. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must complete a minimum of 12 credits and earn a minimum of 3.50 grade point average.

Ridgewater College is a community and technical college educating over 6,000 individuals each year on its campuses in Willmar and Hutchinson.

Area students on dean’s list

Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has released its dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2016-17 academic year. Among those recognized were Anna Anderson of Albert Lea, Jacob Kunkel of Albert Lea, Mariah Legred of Bricelyn, Megan Lindely of Albert Lea and Brooke Reyerson of Hartland.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who have a minimum of 12 credit hours with grade-point averages at 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

NDSU releases dean’s list

Area Minnesota students were among the 3,922 North Dakota State University students to be placed on the fall 2016 dean’s list. Among those recognized were Taylor Willis of Albert Lea and Trey Allis of Wells.

A student must earn a 3.50 grade point average or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits to qualify for the dean’s list.

ALHS alum graduates

Nicholas Bera, the son of Robert and Sandra Bera of Spencer, Iowa, graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato on Dec. 15. He received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. Bera graduated from Albert Lea High School in 2012.

Bethany Lutheran College is a private liberal arts college.

Local student graduates from Wartburg

Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 25 graduates at its winter commencement ceremony Dec. 11.

Ana Olson of Albert Lea graduated during the ceremony with a degree in biology. Olson is the daughter of Jason and Alicia Olson.

Wartburg, a four-year liberal arts college internationally recognized for community engagement, enrolls 1,482 students.
