Fire damages home; family leaves without any injury

Firefighters from multiple agencies saved a house this morning northwest of Albert Lea after it caught on fire.

Firefighters were dispatched to 22325 733rd Ave. shortly before 3 a.m.

Upon arriving, heavy smoke was seen from the area of the roof, and visible flames were seen once the roof was opened, said Albert Lea Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Laskowske.

No injuries were reported from the fire. Two adults and two children were able to leave the house safely, law enforcement records state.

Minor damage was reported to the home’s roof and interior. Laskowske described damage as repairable.

Laskowske said the fire started in the area of a wood burner, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office has responded to investigate.

Albert Lea, Hartland and Clarks Grove fire departments assisted Manchester Fire Department on scene.
