Letter: Some words from President Roosevelt

I just finished reading Carol Nelson’s article in Tuesday’s Tribune, stating that we all must accept the election results whether we agree with them or not. She used quotes of several past presidents.
I wish to share a former president’s worthwhile and timely quote:
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile (like that of humble, submissive slaves or servants), but it is morally treasonable to the American public.” — President Theodore Roosevelt
In November, one of the columns in the Tribune by a leader of Freeborn County Republicans wrote, “I will be holding my nose while I am voting for Trump.” That was a profound statement, not complimentary.
