Minnesota disaster recovery centers consolidate locations

As Minnesota recovery efforts continue, the State/FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers will consolidate.

Disaster Recovery Centers in Blue Earth and Hennepin counties will transition to other locations at 6 p.m. Wednesday The centers remaining open are at Northbridge Mall and Waseca Public Safety Center.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed Sundays until further notice.

Representatives from FEMA, various state agencies and the U.S. Small Business Administration are at the centers to answer questions on disaster assistance or low-interest loans.

Survivors can reach most of the services available at DRCs by calling 800-621-3362 or 800-462-7585 for TTY users. Operatorsare on duty from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Individuals can register with FEMA by the deadline on Jan. 30, provide a change of address, telephone or bank account numbers and new insurance information to avoid any processing delays; get facts about FEMA home inspections and learn how to appeal a FEMA decision, among others.

Those who have already registered with FEMA should have their nine-digit case number and zip code information handy when calling.
