Night to Shine event scheduled

First Lutheran Church will host Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 10.
According to a press release, Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love for teens with special needs. As a part of this worldwide movement, more than 350 churches, representing 27 denominations, and 100,000 volunteers in 50 states and 10 countries will come together on one night to celebrate more than 50,000 honored guests with special needs.
Every guest of Night to Shine enters this complimentary event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including, hair and makeup stations, corsages and boutonnieres, shoe shines, appetizers, photography stations and a dance floor. All these activities lead up to the moment when each guest is crowned a king or queen of the prom.
According to the press release, Albert Lea is the only town in the area having a dance and teens with special needs from surrounding towns are invited to attend too.
