Duplicate Bridge Club

Six tables played at Duplicate Bridge Club on Jan. 18 at the Senior Center in Austin. Winners were Lorraine Lippert and Ron Peters, first place; Gene Domino and Rick Stroup, second place; Larry Crowe and Jim Fisher, third place; Joyce Crowe and Millie Seiver, fourth place; and Gail and Ray Schmidt, fifth place.

Players come from Adams, Rose Creek, Albert Lea, Austin, Northwood and Mason City to play.

TOPS MN Chapter 979

Tops MN Chapter No. 979 announced its November and December winners.

November division winners were Rose Rolands, division 3, who lost 2 pounds; and Betty Johnson, division 4, who lost 3.2 pounds.

Weekly best losers were Katie Koziolek, week one; Barb Solbert, week two; and Barb Soper, week three.

Soper was named the four-star winner. Betty Hanson had four weeks of consecutive weight loss. Lottery contest winners were Janice Schroeder, LeAnn Jones, Frieda Johannsen, Lois Goodnature and Pat Sorenson.

Laureen Hohansee, division 3, was the December division winner with 3.2 pounds lost.

Weekly best losers were Hanson, week one; Lois Goodnature, week two; Johnson, week three; Fern Rockwell, week four; and Hanson and Solberg, week five.

Koziolek and Rockwell were four-star winners.

Lottery contest winners were Ardis Bang, Betty Gavle, Koziolek, Darlene Hauge, Sandi Oudekerk, Nancy Jensen and Barb Solberg.

Quarterly division winners were Betty Hanson, division 2, who lost 8.8 pounds; and Solberg, division three, who lost 9 pounds.
