The Albert Lea boys’ hockey team was looking to avoid its fourth loss in a row Thursday when it played in Red Wing.
A first-period goal proved to be the difference as the Tigers fell, 5-4.
Red Wing’s Spencer Kronbeck scored a little over three minutes into the game and that goal would prove to be the game-winner as the two teams matched goal for goal after the first period.
Bergan Lundak (2), Sam Chalmers and Mitchell Evans all scored goals for the Tigers.
Red Wing took a 5-3 lead late in the third period before Evans connected on a power-play goal with 43 seconds left to bring the Tigers to within a goal.
Albert Lea will have an opportunity to stop its downward slide when it hosts Le Sueur-Henderson at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
