WELLS — After taking a year off, the St. Casimir’s Valentine’s Carnival is making its return.
Crystal Dulas, a representative of the carnival committee, said the group is hoping to bring back even more excitement for the community in an effort to raise more money for the church’s general fund.
According to Dulas, the carnival is the only fundraiser the church hosts and has been a long-standing tradition in the church for over 60 years.
Activities will begin at noon Feb. 12 with a lunch, including pork loin sandwiches cooked by the Faribault County Pork Producers. Other snack stands and an array of games for all ages will also open at noon. Games planned so far include plinko, ring the bottle and a cake walk, among others.
Bingo will begin at 1 p.m., and a live auction will start at 4 p.m.
Those unable to attend can still participate in the carnival’s high stakes raffle. For $20, participants have a chance to win one of 10 cash prizes ranging from $50 to $1,500. A limit of 1,000 raffle tickets will be sold for the event.
For more information, or to buy raffle tickets, contact the church rectory office at 507-553-5391, or stop by the rectory at 320 Second Ave. SW in Wells.
The rectory is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
