Coming off its first loss of the season, the NRHEG boys’ basketball team rebounded with a tough 54-51 win over Triton on Thursday night.
Oakley Baker scored 24 points, and Tyler Raimann, Brady Agrimson and Chad Agrimson each had six points. Benji Lundberg finished with eight points.
The Panthers jumped out to early eight and 10-point leads, but Triton refused to go away, cutting into the lead each time NRHEG would extend it.
Triton took the lead with just over minutes to go, but Baker responded with a three to put NRHEG up two.
The two teams battled back and forth, but NRHEG sank its free throws to go up three. Triton had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but the ball hit the side of the backboard.
The Panthers are now 18-1 on the season.
NRHEG plays at Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on Tuesday.
