The Cannon Valley Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Faribault Senior Center, 19 W. Division St. in Faribault, according to a press release.  There will be questions and answers with decaf coffee and desserts after the presentation.

Quint Pettigrew, a local retired educator, will give a presentation on the bloody Battle of Franklin in Franklin, Tennessee, on Nov. 30, 1864. Gen. John Bell Hood nearly lost his entire army on his way to help Gen. Robert E. Lee in Virginia.   Quint will talk about how Arthur McArthur Jr. (“boy colonel” at 19 years old), Gen. Douglas McArthur’s father, helped turn the tide of battle and defeat John Bell Hood.
