The Northwood-Kensett girls’ basketball team won its third game in a row thanks to some strong defense and free throw shooting.
The Vikings held St. Ansgar to 29 points for a 44-29 victory, the ninth of the year for Northwood-Kensett.
The Vikings didn’t shoot the ball well from the field — 11-48 — but they nailed 16-20 free throws in the win.
Calli Christiansen led the Vikings with 13 points and five steals, and teammate Laura Hopperstad finished with 12 points.
The win pushes Northwood-Kensett’s record to 9-11 on the season.
It will travel to play Osage on Tuesday.
