Normana Lodge to offer scholarship

Normanna Lodge No. 52 of the Sons of Norway will offer a $1,000 scholarship to a person with a 3.5 grade point average on a scale of 4.0, who has completed at least two years of college and intends to enroll in a program that leads to a concentration in Norwegian studies. Norwegian studies includes subjects such as art, crafts, history, international studies, language, literature, music, politics, folklore, mythology and women.
According to a press release, the money will be paid to the recipient’s college on Dec. 1, after a statement is received from the college indicating enrollment in a Norwegian studies program.
The student has no obligation to Normana Lodge following the acceptance of the scholarship.

Candidates are asked to submit their application by March 15 and to have their college send a transcript of their credits to the above address by March 15 as well.
According to a press release, the money used for these scholarships has been donated by Shirley M. Bartholomew, Bertha Weiks and other members and friends of Normana Lodge.
