The Albert Lea wrestling team had very little trouble with two Big Nine Conference teams — Winona and Mankato East — on Tuesday night.

The Tigers defeated the Winhawks 54-16 and the Cougars 59-13.

Against Winona, Albert Lea won the first five matches of the night and 11 of the 14 matches overall.

Josiah Hedensten was the only Albert Lea wrestler to earn a pin in the match.

Against Mankato East, Albert Lea lost two of the first three matches, but then found its groove winning nine in a row and 10 of the next 11.

Christian Garcia, Riet Lony, Brady Nielsen, Jesse Hernandez, Brody Nielsen and Nic Cantu all earned pins.

Albert Lea will wrestle against Rochester Mayo on Thursday.
