The Albert Lea boys’ basketball team has had very little to cheer about this season.

The Tigers entered Saturday’s game against Faribault winless, but Albert Lea has always put forth great effort in games this season.

Saturday was no different.

But a late stretch in the second half by the Falcons is what they needed to get by the Tigers, 62-48.

Jack Buendorf had 13 points, Tanner Wichmann scored 11 and Sean Wadding finished with 10 points for the Tigers.

Albert Lea was down six points at halftime, but had trouble executing in the second half.

Despite the loss, Tigers coach Lucas Novosad said he is pleased with what he is seeing from his guys, with a lot of them stepping up their play.

Albert Lea will travel to Rochester to play Mayo on Tuesday.
