Verna (Moen) Okland of Golden, Colorado — a retired Bureau of Mines employee — died  Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017. She was 84.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Atonement Lutheran Church, 6281 W. Yale Ave. in Lakewood, Colorado. There was a cremation.

She was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1950.

She is survived by daughters Diane Duclos, Nancy (Jamie) Macbeth and Marta Okland; grandsons Kurt, Jason and Matthew; granddaughter, Amy; and great-grandchildren Evan and Emily.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Ingeborg Moen; and brother, Rolf Moen.

In lieu of flowers,  donations may be made in Verna’s name to Atonement Lutheran Church.
