Art contest open to high school students

Freemond Madson VFW Auxiliary No. 447 announces The Young American Patriotic Art Contest. Participants must attend a local high school and homeschooled students are also eligible. Students must be under 18 and a United States citizen. There are national prizes and from first to fifth place of up to $10,000. Local and state prizes will also be awarded.

Art must be on paper or canvas. Watercolor, pastel, charcoal, tempera, crayon, pen and ink or oil may be used. Frames should not be used. Submit canvas entries on stretcher frame or canvas boards. Other entries must be matted on white. Art should be no smaller than 8 inches by 10 inches but no larger than 18 inches x 24 inches including the mat.
