Lavonne Olson, 1928-2017

Memorial services for Lavonne J. Olson of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Mitchem will officiate. Friends may greet the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea.
Lavonne died Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Thorne Crest Senior Living Community in Albert Lea. She was 88.
Lavonne was born Dec. 3, 1928, in rural Granada, the daughter of Virgil G. and Edna M. (Bulock) Clough. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School. On Feb. 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Stuart J. Olson.
Lavonne was employed in sales and sales management with JC Penny for over 32 years. Lavonne was a lifetime member of the Albert Lea American Legion Auxiliary, a member of United Methodist Church, church circle and was active in the Albert Lea Senior Center. In her free time, Lavonne enjoyed traveling, sewing and reading.
She is survived by her sons Dennis J. (Lorene) Olson of Albert Lea, Clark A. (LuAnn) Olson of Albert Lea and Jan S. (Pam) Olson of Blaine; daughter, Linda Mitchell, of Faribault; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Esther (Ken) Larsen of Albert Lea and Delores Wogen of Pennsylvania; and brothers-in-law Russell P. (Phiz) Olson and Loring (Ginny) Olson.
Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stuart; and brother-in-law, Roger Wogen.
Memorials are preferred to Albert Lea Senior Center, United Methodist Church ABC Fund or donor’s choice.
