Letter: Who trained these Republicans?

Keep it real.

I am reminded of the time when two Republican Party education committee leaders were invited by the then District 27A Republican state legislator to attend an open meeting in Albert Lea. The two GOP leaders were very skillful liars. They were pitching to us that gutting public education would actually mean more money for the school district.  Fortunately, our school superintendent was in the crowd, I think with our school district accountant. The superintendent challenged them, stating their numbers did not add up. The superintendent challenged with the facts and the truth, exposing both of them as liars.

Fast forward to today. GOP Speaker of the House Paul Ryan skillfully lies that the just-created GOP plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act with their health care insurance plan will mean more people having health insurance and at cheaper prices.

The facts and the truth about Paul Ryan’s adoption of Ayn Rand’s nihilist theory means he is opposed to the government providing fair and affordable health care insurance to anyone.

Who trained these Republicans to be such skillful liars?  Qualified trainees certainly must possess the profile of a sociopath.

All Republicans are dedicated to building and worshiping at a wall of xenophobia, for example. Today’s Republican leaders have no core values, no human decency and certainly no empathy for the 99 percent.

We can stop them. It is actually quite simple. Stop voting for Republicans.
