Man sentenced for drug possession at local park

An Iowa City, Iowa, man who pleaded guilty to third-degree cocaine possession in October was placed on probation for up to 20 years on Thursday in Freeborn County District Court.

Justin Forrest Rush, 34, was sentenced to 12 days in jail and was given credit for 12 days served.

Rush was charged after he was found with bags containing 33.03 grams of cocaine in late May at Harmony Park.

Rush was originally charged with first-degree cocaine possession, but that charge was reduced.
