Albert Lea wrestling club competes in tournament

- The Albert Lea K-8 wrestling club participated in the Northland Youth Wresting Association tournament March 30-April 2 and the K-6 elementary team took second place at the NYWA state tournament. Derrick McMillian received the Outstanding Team Wrestler Award. Coach Andy Hackenmueller was named Coach of the Year. On the K-8 team, Brody Ignaszewski and Nick Korman were crowned individual champions. Aivin Wasmoen, Cole Glazier, Derrick McMillian and Caleb Talamantes were runner-ups. Third-place finishers were Mike Olson, Logan Davis and Trent Ignaszewski; fourth-place were Dylan Groess and Griffin Studier; fifth-place was Triton Cox; and sixth-place finishers were Malakai Olson, Mavrick Attig, Cameron Davis and Josiah Hedensten. - Provided
