There are between 500 and 600 jobs within 25 miles of Albert Lea, according to a placement specialist with Workforce Development Inc.

Representatives from some of those businesses will be at the Albert Lea Job and Career Fair Wednesday at Northbridge Mall, 2510 Bridge Ave., looking to fill their open positions.

The fair goes from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Job seekers are encouraged to meet employers, gather information about open positions and submit applications.

Valerie Kvale with Workforce Development Inc. said there are a variety of jobs open, including part-time and full-time work, seasonal jobs and different shifts.

Professional, health care and manufacturing positions are included.

Kvale encouraged job seekers to come in dressy-casual attire — for men that means a collared shirt and a nice pair of jeans.

Thirty-minute workshops will be given at 1:15 and 3:30 p.m. on preparing for interviews and will discuss topics such as first impressions, interviewing skills and applications and resumes.

Counselors will be available to help review resumes free of charge.

Kvale encouraged job seekers to give time to allow for applications to be reviewed. Though there are many positions available, sometimes it takes a little while to do the hiring.
