Ronald Hagen, 1936-2017

Memorial services for Ronald W. Hagen, 80, of Bricelyn will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. James Kassera will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Ronald died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
Ronald William Hagen was born July 2, 1936, on the family farm in Pickerel Lake Township, the son of William and Gazena (Baas) Hagen. He served in the National Guard. On June 20, 1959, Ronald was united in marriage to Barbara Laite at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. He was self-employed doing small engine repair and lawn service and worked for a time at Enders Tool Co.
Ronald was an active member of Crossroads CB Club until it disbanded. He enjoyed making wood ornaments, signs, repairing furniture, gardening, fishing, camping and following the Minnesota Twins.
Ronald loved having conversations with his grandchildren.
Ronald is survived by children Judy (LeRoy Vargas) Siemasko, Lonny (Karen) Hagen, Jeff (Brenda Baker) Hagen, Sheryl (Gordy) Kuether, Dawn Hagen and William (Brekka Kaderabek) Hagen; grandchildren Richard Siemasko, Andrew (Kristina) Siemasko, Crystal Siemasko, Noelle (Cody Viktora) Hagen, Rachel Hagen, Emma Hagen, Jonathon (Angela) Yarum, Hayley Kuether, Skylar Horton, Bailey Horton, Codey (Jamie) Hagen, Joshua Hagen and Michelle Hagen; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings David (Carol) Hagen and Sandra (Jack) Smith; mother-in-law, Emelie Laite; brothers-in-law Ray (Phyllis) Laite and Ronald (Becky) Laite; sisters-in-law Charlotte Haberman, Linda (Jim Mills) Laite and Colleen (James) Wyant; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents William and Gazena; grandson, Brandon Hagen; brother, Duane Hagen; sister, Sharon Hagen; niece, Josephine Laite; nephew, James Wyant; and father-in-law, Leonard Laite.
