- Fourth-grade students from Albert Lea Area Schools visited POET, the local ethanol producing plant in Glenville. Students toured the plant and observed the lab. Students learned that ethanol is produced by yeast through fermentation. After the ethanol has been produced, the solids can be sent through a dryer and distillers grain can be made. Students also learned how many job careers are involved in running a ethanol facility. - Provided
