Harry Carl Christensen passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community in Albert Lea.

Harry was born June 23, 1934, to Harry Sr. and Mabel Christensen. He grew up in Easton and attended school at the country school nearby until the eighth grade. Later that year, his father became ill and he had to take over the responsibilities of the farm. One night in Mapleton a young lady caught his eye and on April 18, 1953, he married his wife, Barbara. September of the next year the first of seven children was born.

A hard worker all his life, he earned a living as a mechanic, farmer and trucker. In between raising children, being a grandpa and working, he spent 27 years with the Alden Fire Department. When he could find the time, he enjoyed fishing and fixing just about anything that needed fixing — usually with duct tape or JB weld.

A special thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice, who provided support during his last few months; and Thorne Crest, who gave him the care he needed for the last week when his family was no longer able to.
