Stephanie Vollum, 1950-2017

A memorial service for Stephanie J. Vollum will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bonnerup Funeral chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Stephanie passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at her home in Albert Lea. She was 66.

Stephanie Jill Vollum was born Oct. 23, 1950, to Gordon and Vera (Bugg) Upton in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. She became a midwife and registered nurse. She loved to travel and moved to Albert Lea in 1979 to marry Charles Vollum after meeting on the Yankee Clipper, where she was the ship’s nurse.

Stephanie was a fully qualified rehabilitation consultant, as well as an active member in the community — including the American Red Cross as an registered/disaster nurse, a foster home for cats for the Humane Society, a substitute nurse for Albert Lea High School and the Fountain Lake Bookstore.

She was a loving mother and mother-in-law to Cheyene, Simone and Robert; loved nana of Cameron; devoted sister and sister-in-law to David and Kathy, Penny and Michael, and Anthony and Judy; and dearly missed aunt to Samara, Leah, Jannah, Michaela, Natalie, Darren, Christopher and their families.
