I wonder what the Mayo brothers would think if they were alive today? Would they be comfortable with the emphasis on world class health care for the likes of Saudi Arabian royalty and diminished levels of care in our community?

Five-hundred million dollars of taxpayer money (some of it from Albert Lea taxpayers) for Destination Rochester. Now that Mayo has locked in a monopoly on healthcare in southeastern Minnesota, it chose to forget the promises made to Albert Lea and the smaller communities around us.

If my father were alive today I think he would say, “They have gotten too big for their britches.”

Our community will be permanently damaged by this move. We can’t take this harmful move without fighting back.
