Letter: Mayo brothers, nuns surely rolling in graves

I would like to add a few words on this takeover of our town and hospital.

Mayo used to be a very compassionate medical center in Rochester alone. I am sure it still has compassion, but it all seems to be about Destination Medical Center.

Rich people need high-rise condos, hotels and five-star restaurants. The lower class is expected to work for them at low wages. Rent is out of control. A friend rented a 10-by-12 room with a bathroom, and no separate kitchen — a common kitchen where if you had a food box in the fridge with your name on it, it would probably be stolen for $650 a month. You have to earn $60,000 for a family to rent. Wages for the labor will never reach that point. Their greed of takeover is shameful. The Mayo brothers and nuns who started all those years ago are rolling in their graves, I’m sure. Shame on Mayo.
