Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin recently welcomed Ayokunle Olubaniyi, M.D., to the pediatrics department in Albert Lea, according to a press release.

“I find caring for children very rewarding,” Olubaniyi said. “I appreciate seeing how even the smallest positive impact I make in a child’s early life can bring so much joy and happiness to the entire family.”

Olubaniyi completed his medical degree at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, New York.

He said it has always been his plan to move from the city to a nice, small town.

“I found the community in Albert Lea to be happy, hardworking, welcoming, and family-oriented,” he said. “With Mayo Clinic Health System, I’m happy to have found a unique opportunity for both career and personal growth.”        

In his free time, Olubaniyi enjoys traveling and biking.
