Speed, alcohol considered factors in crash west of Wells

Authorities suspect alcohol and speed to be contributing factors in a car crash that injured an Alden man west of Wells.

Alex Thostenson, 47, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, where he was evaluated and treated for his injuries, according to Faribault County Sheriff’s Office.

Thostenson was traveling east on 180th Street when he lost control of the 2017 Dodge Challenger he was driving, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The crash is still under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the crash at 7:10 a.m. at the road’s intersection with 600th Avenue.

Wells police, fire and ambulance departments, as well as Gold Cross Ambulance and Mayo One assisted on scene.
