The Freeborn County Fair will host the second annual Doxie Dash and Doxie Wanna Be Dash at 1 p.m. Aug. 5 at the North Pavilion on the Freeborn County Fairgrounds in Albert Lea. Check-in will be prior to the event from 11 a.m. to noon. A $5 entry fee will be donated the Freeborn County Humane Society. To kick off the races, there will be a Doxie Display; owners are encouraged to dress their doxies in their finest outfits and costumes.

If you have a dachshund or another short legged dog, register now to participate in the Doxie Dash. No special training is required, just a person to release the dog and one to catch at the finish line.

Vaccination records need to be presented at check-in the day of the event.
