Man taken to hospital after crash and other reports

Stanley Ray Wirtjes, 64, was reported taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening from a motorcycle crash at 4:26 p.m. Saturday at 87011 110th St., outside Glenville.

1 arrested for misdemeanor theft at Walmart

Albert Lea police arrested Emily Gisel Garibay for shoplifting at 1:51 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.

Thefts reported, items damaged

A theft of a cellphone from a residence was reported at 7:42 p.m. Friday at 69482 135th St., outside Twin Lakes.

A vehicle reportedly traveled through a cornfield at 8:36 p.m. Saturday at 20755 640th Ave., outside Alden.

An apartment was reported “trashed and infested” at 10:15 a.m. Friday at 134 W. Clark St.

A female reported losing $500 in a scam at 6:20 p.m. Friday at 915 Maplehill Drive.

A theft of a white 2011 Ford Econoline van was reported at 6:44 p.m. Saturday at 707 Water St. The van was reported recovered early Sunday morning.

Someone reported losing $2,000 in a scam involving the attempted purchase of a puppy and an airline ticket  at 8:05 a.m. Sunday in Albert Lea.

A restored vintage Beach Cruiser one-speed bicycle was reported stolen from a backyard at 3:34 p.m. Sunday at 821 Water St. A weedeater was reported missing later Sunday by the same person.

Assault reported

A male reported being hit in the head by another person at 10:47 p.m. Friday at 200 Main St., Myrtle. The victim, who reportedly had a large gash to his head and visible blood, was described as “semi-alert and talking.” The male did not want to press charges, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office documents state.
