Motorcyclist injured in crash

A motorcyclist was injured Saturday afternoon after a collision on U.S. Highway 69 in Albert Lea.

John Ray Stevens, 53, of Albert Lea was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The State Patrol report stated Stevens was driving a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Highway 69 when he collided with a 2004 Buick Century driven by Patrick Robert Barnick, 19, of Albert Lea at the highway’s intersection with Ninth Street.

Barnick was eastbound on Ninth Street and stopped at a stop sign when he reportedly made a left turn into the path of the motorcycle.

He was not injured.

The Albert Lea fire and police departments assisted at the scene.
