Memorial services for Danielle “Dani” Reiter, 27, of Ellendale and Owatonna will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church in Ellendale. The Rev. Randy Cirksena will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Sunday.

Danielle died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, in Owatonna after a courageous battle with muscular dystrophy.

Dani was born Jan. 20, 1990, in Rochester, the daughter of Dean and Cindy (Moe) Reiter. She attended NRHEG and Albert Lea schools. She worked for Cedar Valley Services in Albert Lea and Owatonna.

For the last few years Dani lived at a group home in Owatonna, where she made many special friends and enjoyed being near her boyfriend, Darrin Simon.

She was involved in Special Olympics,Teens Encounter Christ, bowling and parks and recreation’s adapted hockey. She loved scrapbooking, making her fairy garden and her animals.

Dani will be remembered by her courage to overcome many obstacles in her life, her love for all those who knew her, for always giving to others before herself and for her “I’m okay” response.

Dani had a huge heart and never complained about anything. She always had a smile on her face and her faith in the Lord always kept her strong.

She will be greatly missed by her parents Dean and Cindy; brother, Matt, of Ellendale; her grandparents Loren and LaVonne Reiter and Loren and Bev Krause, all of Owatonna; her special friend, Darrin Simon; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Elmer Moe.
