Florence LaCore, 1923-2017

Memorial services for Florence M. LaCore, 94, of Albert Lea will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Albert Lea.

Fred Whitmore will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at Kingdom Hall on Saturday. Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home for a light lunch and fellowship. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Florence died peacefully in her home on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Florence Marie LaCore was born March 16, 1923, to Lester Hawley and Gladys (Stewart) Hawley Haroldson. She grew up in the Glenville area as well as in Iowa with her father and stepmother. She graduated from Albert Lea High School. On Jan. 26, 1946, Florence married Lloyd LaCore. She enjoyed reading and loved birds and flowers. She was always known for her warm, beautiful smile. Florence loved the Bible and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1956. Some of her most joyous times were spent talking to people about the Bible and its wonderful hope for the future.

Florence is survived by her sons Randy (Cindy), Denny (special friend, Pam), Harry (Jolene) and Warren (special friend, Dee); daughters Maureen LaCore, Barbara (Jon) Olson and Karen (Frank) King; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Milton (Eva) Haroldson; sisters Linda and Nancy; and many nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her father and stepmother; mother and stepfather; and sisters Norma Goskeson and Dawn Freeland.
