Karelyn Kay Porter (Olson), 77, of Rochester, formerly of Albert Lea, died surrounded by family on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Community due to complications from a stroke.
Karelyn was born on Dec. 2, 1939, in Albert Lea to Manley and Alma (Cram) Olson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1958. She married Keith Porter Sr. on Aug. 3, 1958, and the couple had three children.
She enjoyed embroidery, baking for friends and family and bragging about her grandchildren. Karelyn really enjoyed cooking for any reason and for anyone. She was very thankful for all of the friendships she had over the years in Rochester. She loved spending time going to the movies, going out to eat and other various outings with her friends. The support given by these people will forever be treasured.
