The Civil War round table group opens its 2017-18 season at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 in the media center of Albert Lea’s Southwest Middle School.

Historian and moderator of the group, Jim Munyer, will present as his topic, “Albert Wedge: Albert Lea Civil War Surgeon.” This event is free and open to the general public throughout the area. The traditional raffle of a book about people or events during the Civil War will be held at the close of the session for a lucky attendee to win.
