14-year-old cited for possessing BB gun at Albert Lea High School

A 14-year-old boy was cited for possessing a BB gun on Tuesday at Albert Lea High School.

The BB gun was reportedly discovered after a school official removed a bag from the boy’s locker because he was leaving the school, according to police.

The boy reportedly stated he was going to use the BB gun with a friend after school.

There was no danger to students or staff from the incident, said Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Jeff Strom. The boy was released to his parents.

It is unclear what led to the school official removing the bag from the boy’s locker.

The incident was reported on police records at 10:48 a.m.
