Man listed in stable condition from fire

Dean DeSart of Albert Lea is listed in stable condition at Hennepin County Medical Center after a fire that damaged a home early Thursday at 502 E. Fifth St.

DeSart and his brother, Dave DeSart, were in the home at the time of the fire. Dave DeSart was treated and released at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea following the fire.

The home is owned by their parents, Donald and Mary DeSart.

The fire that started in the kitchen of the home resulted in smoke damage throughout the house.

1 arrested for burglary

Albert Lea police arrested David Francisco Duenes, 33, for burglary and criminal damage to property after a burglary in progress was reported at 12:12 a.m. Sunday at 609 Edgewood Ave.

2 cited for violations

Police cited Oscar Lee Cordova, 22, for misdemeanor theft after a suspicious person was reported at 11:21 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.

Police cited Hannah Rose Goodemann, 19, for underage drinking during a traffic stop at 1:56 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and West Main Street.

Items  stolen, damaged

Two 21-foot Little Giant ladders, one 8-foot step ladder and a 13-foot extended plank for scaffolding were reported stolen at 8:09 a.m. Friday at 414 Commercial St. The tools were valued at $1,180.

A poolside laundry door was reported kicked in and washers and dryers damaged with tops taken at 11:23 a.m. Friday at 204 E. Front St. Damage was estimated at $1,200.

A front windshield was reported shattered at 12:09 p.m. Saturday at 718 St. Peter Ave. A brick was found in grass nearby. Damage was estimated at $250.

2 arrested on warrants

Police arrested Kristina Rose Perkins, 33, on Hennepin and Dakota County warrants after a suspicious person reportedly walked into the home of a known individual at 5:08 a.m. Saturday at 511 Johnson St. The person was described as intoxicated and refusing to leave.

Police arrested Mark Duane Bolinger, 18, on a Scott County warrant during a traffic stop at 6:38 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Main Street and Morningside Road.
