United South Central finished the season with a record of 5-5, a big improvement over their 2-7 record in 2016. According to head coach Brandon Neseth, the highlights of the season have been their 41-6 playoff win over Randolph and beating Bethlehem Academy, 6-0 in the first game of the season.

“(We) were a young team,” he said. “Next year next year we will return nine offensive starters and nine defensive starters, but we had an excellent senior class that helped spur the remarkable turnaround from last season.”

The Rebels return their top two offensive producers in junior Roel Perales and sophomore Zach Niebuhr. The duo combined for nearly 1,500 yards of offense and 19 touchdowns. They only lose one player from the offensive line that allowed the team to rush for the most yards in a single season in a long time.
