The Glenville-Emmons volleyball team played in their final game of the regular season Monday night against Spring Grove.
The Wolverines were unable to keep up with the power and speed of the Lions as they fell, 3-0.
It seemed like the Wolverines might be able to keep up with the Lions early in the first set. However, after trailing 7-10, the Wolverines struggled to find any momentum and would go on to lose the set, 13-25.
The second set got out to a very slow start for Glenville-Emmons. At one point in the set, Sping Grove lead 1-15. The Wolverines would put up a bit of a fight to make the score a little closer, but ultimately fell, 7-25.
Glenville-Emmons would jump out to an early lead in the final set, but it would prove to be not enough to edge out Spring Grove. The third and final set ended, 9-25, and gave Spring Grove the decisive victory.
Junior Halee Miller lead the Wolverines with six digs, while juinor Daniela Rizo had five and sophomore Kennedy Severtson had four. Leading the team in kills was Rizo and sophomore Chloe Anderson with two each. Anderson also lead the team in assists with three.
The Wolverines finished the season 0-24 and will play again in the first round of the section 1A tournament. That match will be on Monday against an opponent yet to be determined.
